Cakes

Since my birthday cake was so well recieved last week, I decided to post some pictures of cakes I've made in the past... Unfortunetly I can't post pictures of ALL of them, because many photos were taken before I had a digi cam! Anyway, here they are:
This one was made for a huge birthday party last year:

This one is my wedding cake:

Which I made to look like my dress:

This a another wedding cake, I really struggled with this one but it turned out ok:

The next three are pictures of cakes I made in the cake decorating class I took:

These are gum paste flowers-made from entirely edible products, but look just like real flowers:

Wow, you have quite a talent for cake making. I can't bake to save my life. I love that your wedding cake matches your wedding dress!

Sarah,
All of your cakes are so beautiful. Do you enjoy baking? I hope so, because then you can be happy, since it is so nice to have a job doing what you like to do.
I agree with D, your wedding dress and cake match perfectly.

Oh, I love your wedding cake too (I was just looking at your latest post, with the cake decorated like a big gift box). It does look like your dress! That's fabulous.

those techniques ARE hard, i did all of them in my own decorating classes in culinary school. Wonderful work, Sarah, just beautiful

Thanks everyone for the nice comments! I really love cake decorating, I hope when I finally get my visa, I will be able to get a job in a bakery. I really love the old-fashioned high-detailed cakes like the yellow one. It has what is called "stringwork"- it is my favprtie technique! For some reason I love the intricate delicate work- it is calming for me.
